Electric Zoo is an annual event in New York held in September. Growing in size year after year Electric Zoo holds the reputation of being one of New York’s biggest and best festivals. Travelers from around the country come to experience everything the amazing city has to offer and a lineup featuring the best dance music artists in the world. Every year the festival announces a new theme, 2019 was the year of Evolved.
Staying true to its theme, 2019 was the biggest Electric Zoo to date with 100,000 attendees. Electric Zoo first took place in 2009 with 26,000 attendees and has quickly quadrupled in a decade. Previously the festival stuck to zoo and New York related themes, but this year’s theme will be out of this world!
The 2021 edition of Electric Zoo will be Supernaturals. Area 51 raid will be moved to Randall’s Island, NYC as flying saucers roam the city. Come dressed up for the theme and check out the list of official Electric Zoo after parties!
This theme was first announced in February of 2020 but the festival had to reschedule its 2020 edition to September 2021 due to covid. This year Electric Zoo has announced a covid policy. Under event details of the Electric Zoo website, it states by entering the event you acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and enter at your own risk. If the festival is cancelled due to COVID-19 all tickets will receive a refund. No announcements have been made yet regarding the checking of vaccination status or negative test results at the door. If you are planning on attending the event and are not vaccinated, we recommend planning to show a negative test result upon entry. By planning ahead and scheduling the needed test, you can stay ahead of any late announcements made by the festival. Due to the delta variant, festival and concert events around the country are announcing requirements for vaccine or negative test results 24 to 72 hours prior to the event.
