Canadian electronic music legends, Zeds Dead, are officially launching the largest and most production-intensive headlining run of their 15-year career this weekend. Titled the Journey of a Lifetime tour, the massive North American amphitheater and major-market run marks a definitive milestone for Dylan Mamid (DC) and Zachary Rapp-Rovan (Hooks).
Deadrocks XII: Where the Journey Begins
Zeds Dead is kicking off this historic tour in Colorado this weekend with their most iconic annual tradition.
On July 2 and 3, the duo returns to the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre for Deadrocks XII. What began over a decade ago as a cult-favorite gathering has grown into a full-scale cultural institution, drawing thousands of devoted fans from across states each summer. Once again, Deadrocks sold out both nights before a single lineup announcement is made.
The celebration continues on Saturday, July 4, with their annual Backyard Jamboree, shifting locations this year to Denver’s Auraria Campus. Together, this three-day Independence Day weekend takeover serves as the ultimate launchpad for their national tour.
The Origin of Journey of a Lifetime
The tour’s name carries significant historical weight, taken directly from one of the very first tracks Zeds Dead uploaded to the internet back in 2009.
Looking back at their massive trajectory, the duo reflected:
“17 years later, it feels like it was a prophecy. We might have not realized it at the time, but we were in fact blasting off into space and leaving behind life as we knew it. This journey is your journey with us as well… We’ve created a world together and the Journey of a Lifetime tour aims to be our most thorough exploration of it.”
To match the significance of the run, the production design is their most ambitious yet, incorporating evolved visual storytelling inspired by the retro-television and space-travel motifs introduced during the Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness era.
Fans can expect an immersive full-catalog live set that bridges the complete arc of Zeds Dead’s career, dusting off everything from their earliest 2009 MySpace uploads and raw Bassmentality underground edits to platinum-certified records and the cinematic sounds of their 2025 album, Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness.
Critically for fans, the tour also represents one of the last opportunities to experience Zeds Dead live before the duo steps away from touring in 2027 for an extended hiatus.
Beyond the Headliner
True to the genre-fluid ecosystem cultivated through both their live curation and independent label, Deadbeats—which celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year—the tour features a heavily stacked, rotating cast of forward-thinking supporting talent. Artists joining select dates include ALLEYCVT, Daily Bread, Deathpact, Dr. Fresch, IMANU, Ivy Lab, Mary Droppinz, Moody Good, and Whethan.
Additionally, Zeds Dead has partnered with the non-profit organization PLUS1 for the entirety of the tour. One dollar ($1) from every ticket sold will support organizations dedicated to expanding access to music education and creative opportunities, including providing instruments and music production software to communities in need.
With its most ambitious production to date, a career-spanning retrospective, and the largest headlining run in the duo’s history, Journey of a Lifetime is a celebration of everything Zeds Dead has built alongside their fans over the past 15 years.
