Today, Chris Lake releases long-awaited fan favorite “In The Yuma,” featuring Aatig. From the inception of the track live on Twitch, to its immense live reception, the prolific producer call it “the best thing I did in the pandemic.” Inspired by his performance in the Yuma tent at Coachella 2019, the new single captivates with Lake’s thunderous production. The resounding bass coupled with the incisive percussion and synth-work. Aatig’s vocals have this laidback yet present quality that effortlessly melds with track. The breakdowns exude this sultry quality that puts the listener at ease until Lake initiates the oscillating builds back to the entrancing groove.
Chris Lake recalls the first iterations of the new single:
The pandemic was a shitty time but great things came from it.It was great to be doing music whilst being live on Twitch in 2020 and one of the best memories I have from that time is making this track. When I finally got around to testing it out live (over a year later) I couldn’t believe how well it worked. I’ve been playing it ever since.”
Following the release of “In The Yuma,” Lake brings a Black Book Block Party to The Midway in San Francisco. The event, hosted tomorrow November 12, features special guests Dennis Ferrer, Amémé, Lauren Lane and Hank K. In addition, performances at EDC Orlando, Holy Ship Wrecked, Echothon, Decadence Colorado and Proper NYE/NYD will keep Lake on the road through the final moments of 2022. Tour Date here.
