2023 is right around the corner and Dallas is ringing in the new year with Lights All Night (LAN), Texas’ longest running EDM festival. With such a diverse lineup stacked with talented artists, it’s nearly impossible to see every set, but here’s 5 acts you have to catch.
Zeds Dead
With their eclectic range of electronic beats, everything from drum & bass, dubstep, and electro house will be played at Zeds Dead’s set. Enjoy the classics including “Gassed Up”, “Blame”, “Lights Out”, and “Alive”, as well as their contemporary remixes. The Toronto duo never fails to secure the attention of fans as their performances are a perfect flow of heavy bass and airy house. From their chill mixtapes to their dubstep masterpieces, Zeds Dead is an act you won’t want to miss.
Griz
Get funky at Griz’s set as he is known to exceed expectations with his performances. His colorful visuals, surprising drops, and encouragement to spread love & good vibes will have you smiling from ear to ear. Rejoice in his nostalgic throwbacks infused with sax solos as Griz will bring a blissful blend of house, dubstep, soul and pure joy to Lights All Night 2022. If Zeds Dead doesn’t, you can only bet Griz will play “What is something people are not ready to hear? …Griz yeah Zeds Dead!”
Excision
Excision is ready to blast ears and break necks at LAN. It’s almost a guarantee that he will be the loudest DJ at the festival. The disc jockey released his fifth studio album, Onyx, earlier in 2022, featuring high-profile collaborations with dubstep artists including Sullivan King, Kai Wachi, and Kompany. Influenced by heavy metal guitar riffs and hip hop tempos/flows, Excision has also expanded on his intense sound with melodic elements on this album. His rich formula of heavy hitting bass and cinematic build-ups will leave fans starstruck.
John Summit
Get ready for some feel-good floor-fillers from John Summit. The rising star started DJing in college while studying (or instead of studying) accounting. After getting his masters and CTA, his artistic streak continued and he’s now become one of the leaders in tech house. Most famous for his playful track, “Deep End”, John Summit has racked up streams on Spotify. His catchy tunes, modern melody, and energy on stage will make this act hard to miss.
HE$H
The Dallas native is ready to bring the heat. Although he is not as mainstream as the other artists on the list, he still sits at the table with present dubstep titans. His wonky trap tracks are dark and aggressive, but his southern hip-hop influences are cleverly melded together. Catch HE$H’s act at LAN to see him master the decks and command the room.
