Discover “Flesh,” the latest single by Gold Features

Today, Golden Features shares his latest single “Flesh,” out now via Foreign Family Collective / Warner Music Australia. The acclaimed Australian electronic producer is known for his genre-bending style. With his latest single, the avant-garde artist continues the experimental ventures with dark club tones. In “Flesh,” Golden Features exemplifies the underground rave aesthetic with thunderous beats, dominating basslines, and mechanical sound design. The vigor of the track evolves through the further stimulation of new piercing synth melodies and ethereal harmonic textures. And, as the fourth single in a string of releases by Golden Features, “Flesh” shares the stage with the announcement of his sophomore album Sisyphus.

Regarding the track, Golden Features shares:

‘Flesh’ was one of the earlier demo’s from the album’s writing process. It was a direct response to my time in Berlin and a song that encapsulated everything I fell in love with on my journeys. I wrote it trying to express feelings of being under the weight of an 8 hour session in the rave. Overstimulated, anxious and completely terrified of facing the real world outside. Finally gathering the courage to call it a night experiencing the surreal shift that is walking out of a windowless dungeon into a beautiful sunrise.”

“Sisyphus Album Announcement: Golden Features Embraces Musical Renaissance and Berlin’s Underground Rave Culture”

With the release of “Flesh,” I’m sure fans will be craving more from the renowned artist. But, don’t worry, Golden Features heard your pleas as the single is paired with the announcement of Sisyphus. The forthcoming album, set for release on July 7th,  details the path to his musical renaissance despite the adversity of mental struggles and creative anguish.

Describing the album, Golden Features tells fans:

Sisyphus is a record born out of a need for change. After years of touring the same music, I found myself in a place where I was jaded and had lost the excitement that propelled me into creating music in the first place. I think this is natural when you exist in a space for any extended period of time.”

There is a poetic duality behind the album title Sisyphus. First, the myth of the Greek figure Sisyphus haunted by the repetitive tendencies of the human condition. Second, personal experiences from pre-pandemic nights spent in intimate Berlin clubs with underground electronic music. Overall, Golden Features sets forward to test the boundaries of his exploratory sound with his sophomore album Sisyphus.

Golden Features adds:

I made the decision to get back to what got me into electronic music in the first place. I flew to Berlin and was raving 4 nights a week, only stopping once COVID hit and we had to fly home. Those nights out were pure euphoria. Lining up for hours at clubs I didn’t know if I’d be let in, to see DJ’s I didn’t know, playing music I’d never heard. Dancing with strangers we met in the club. No phones, no photos. 5am sessions back at the apartment trying to find the music the DJ had played. I was a fan again and came home with broader horizons, completely re-energized.”
