Building anticipation for his latest album, the LA based Australian dj and producer, Wax Motif, has been keeping busy over the past few years. In 2019, his Divided Souls imprint launched with a track of the same name featuring hip-hop legend Diddy. In 2020, he released “Keep Raving,” the first single by Wax as a part of his new label and the first track he confirmed from his forthcoming album in the works. “All Black Everything” alongside MC Scrufizzer and producer Corrupt (UK) was the next release that would join the tracklist teased for his album on social media. In 2021, Wax Motif and the Moscow duo Phlegmatic Duo gave listeners a long awaited collaboration with “Need You.”
Wax Motif’s latest release, “Thrills” featuring Jaxon Rose, is the newest addition to the growing track list of his much anticipated album. The track starts off with a muffled yet dreamy flute-like counter-melody to Jaxon Rose’s vocals that have this alluring R&B vibe. A subtle percussive build with white-noise risers brings the listener’s anticipation forward. The listner’s ear is left suspended in time as the lyrics “I do it if it feels good” fill the space before that drop. Airy vocals soar over the G-House vibes with a thumping kick, deep bass, later joined by a crisp hi-hat groove.
“Thrills” is a perfect track for audiences vibe with and if his latest releases are any indication of what is to come with Wax Motif’s upcoming album drop, listeners are in for a real treat. Listen to “Thrills” featuring Jaxon Rose with the link below!
