Shiba San touches down on Factory 93 Records with slinky two-track offering, ‘Get High / All The People.’
Originally in the French hip-hop scene, Shiba San left a 15-year long career in that area after becoming fascinated with the sounds of Chicago house. The Parisian house producer delivers grooves equipped with attitude, and his lengthy discography and critically acclaimed Basement Leak imprint testify to his success. As part of the Insomniac Music Group family, Shiba San’s imprint is one of the more underground-leaning labels promoting some of the finest tech house tracks to hit the music scene.
For his latest release, Shiba San joins the Factory 93 Records label with a double-sided single showcasing his “low-slung sensibilities.” The pair of tech house tracks featured on the release lend themselves to a sunny open-air daytime soiree just as much as they would a dark after-hours spot.
“Get High” establishes a dark tone with the full low end kick thumping underneath the brisk hi-hat and snare. Acid synth melodies permeate through the groove in quick interjections throughout the track. The vocal sample is utilized sporadically to single the return of the depth groove. ” All The People” offers a unique splash of colors amongst a deep bass line. Differing from the synth work in the first track, Shiba San utilizes a filtered distorted vocal chop and percussive features of various timbres to invoke contrast in the eclectic atmosphere.
