Kumarion releases two-track EP Resonate / Shaman, out now on WAKAAN! With an increasing love for drum & bass in the U.S, Kumarion continuously expands the bounds of his gripping take on the genre. Now, the progressive producer debuts on WAKAAN with a two-part experimental bass offering. Kumarion infuses hints of his Middle Eastern heritage in Resonate / Shaman. The use of organic instruments adds to the complex textures of his exploratory sound design. The Resonate / Shaman EP captures Kumarion’s intensity and inventiveness in the bass music world.

Kumarion shares: “Resonate and Shaman are both written with an eastern-world flare to it. Resonate is a more up-beat tune where I exploit the resonance knob on the filters to get different harmonic tones of the same note. Shaman is a darker tune where I use a repetition of the same sound design patch but run through different distortions to get a unique version in each individual section.”
Kumarion continues his summer tour with fellow D&B enthusiast Reaper in addition to festivals around the country. Did you catch Kumarion at Project Z, Red Rocks, Big Dub, Das Energi or Interstellar? If not, don’t miss his fiery sets at Bass Canyon, Deep Tropics, Dancefestopia, Imagine Music Festival, and more!
More about Kumarion
Defining the sonic border of aggression and harmony, forward-thinking DnB/Bass producer Kumarion is reimagining the capabilities of modern sound design.
Born in Seattle, WA, Omar Kadmiri’s music career took shape after becoming enraptured with the drum & bass (DnB) genre in 2011. Exposed through the punk/reggae scene, Kadmiri found admiration in the culture as well as the chaotic style of Dub/Jungle Bass music. He began making dark, melodic music on his own, subsequently forging his current moniker, Kumarion, in 2015. The Kumarion project pulls from Kadmiri’s North African/Middle Eastern heritage, utilizing a design and production aesthetic that lends heavily to his roots. Inspired by creative, genre-defining acts like Noisia and Clams Casino, Kumarion composes a wide range of bass music that utilizes distorted sine compression bass and evil sounding reeses.

He followed his debut with Wanna/Closer, a two-track EP released with legendary European label UKF’s Pilot Imprint. He provided support on Dirt Monkey’s Depolarize tour last Summer, played with acts like GRiZ and Liquid Stranger, and is slotted for numerous festival dates and B2B performances with fellow DnB kingpin, REAPER.
