This EP, ‘Overture,’ signifies a fresh start for my sound and Skysia, symbolized by a cloud venturing into uncharted dimensions. Inspired by the interplay of light and dark and my urge to push sonic boundaries, it explores heavier harmonics, sound design, and storytelling.”
Crafting Musical Narratives
Overture consists of four meticulously crafted tracks, each turning a page in this new chapter of music. From the intimate serenity of “Falling” to the meditative yet heavier “Aperture,” Skysia crafts a voyage grounded in the interplay with bass music. Next, “Emerald Bay,” featuring Orenda, ushers in a blend of bliss with sweeping bass sounds depicting the coexistence of light and darkness. Lastly, with triumphant symphonic return of “Meridian,” Skysia guides listeners through a world of wonder and intricate echoes, inviting exploration of the vast spectrum of bass music experiences.
In regards to the intention behind his music, Skysia explains:
A large goal of mine is to make sure we – as artists – don’t lose the art of storytelling. I’ve always loved stories and being taken on a journey. I find that a lot of today’s bass music is purely for drops; I intend to make sure that I’m taking the listener on a voyage. I want each song to be a story in itself.”
