Grammy-nominated artist ZHU returns with brand new release Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 1) via Astralwerks. Last year, the innovative artist released DREAMLAND, with the addition of a deluxe version, but remained silent on the music release front. Now, Zhu unveils seven brand-new tracks solidifying his musical versatility.
Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol.1) explores a wide range of stylistic moods and tones. The musical palette is entranced in deep undertones of house and electronica all joined by Zhu’s atmospheric production and distinctive vocals. Standout tracks in my opinion include the gravitating “Unbothered” with U.K. artist Elderbrook and deceptive club-stomper “The Job.” Other collaborators include Mr. Carmack, Channel Tres, Kiko Franco, Boy Matthews, partywithray, Phil Scully, Bava, sillygirlcarmen, Rush Davis, JADED, Mitch Bell and Aaron Leibowitz. The mix also features the cinematic “I Wonder,” which finds ZHU contemplating what became of someone from his past. A true fan favorite from its premiere during his EDC Las Vegas set in May of 2022.

In regards to the idea behind the mix, ZHU shares, “When I was young, we would rip our favorite songs off the radio straight onto cassettes. I wanted to make something that reminded my fans of an era that was more physical.”
In addition, ZHU will headline two shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado on November 11 and 12 with tickets available HERE on Friday, August 5th.
