Zeds Dead New Label Altered States
How did Zeds Dead get their name?

“Whose motorcycle is this?”

“It’s a chopper baby.”

“Whose chopper is this?”

“It’s Zed’s.”

“Who’s Zed?”

“Zed’s dead baby,”

“Zed’s dead.”

Pulp Fiction (1944)

Zeds Dead have been a pioneer of the bass scene since 2009. Bringing bass music to stages that saw few bass acts if any before them such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Ultra Music Festival.

2016 Zeds Dead’s debut album Northern Lights marked the beginning of a massive tour, and their own independent record label, Deadbeats. With releases from 1788-L, Blanke, Champagne Drip, Gentlemen’s Club, Lick, Rezz, and many more it’s safe to say Deadbeats continues to pioneer the scene through breaking and established artists.

On Deadbeats fifth birthday an announcement has been made about a new dimension of the Deadbeats world called Altered States Records. The first release will feature a mixtape by Zeds Dead featuring 12 all-new original downtempo tracks called Catching Z’s.

Altered States will feature experimental electronic music for the after part and after-after party. When events come back we can sure hope for some Altered States after-parties to the Deadbeats showcase shows happening across the country.

This is not the first time we’ve seen Zeds Dead trip down the experimental lane. For long time Zeds Dead fans, Catching Z’s was an annual mix we all looked forward to. Take a listen at Volume 1 released five years ago.
