What’s Next in EDM for Austin, TX?

Known as the “live music capital of the world,” Austin, TX’s EDM scene is growing like crazy. With multiple venues and various artists, there’s almost too many shows to count. Let’s see what’s next in EDM for Austin, TX.

Markmywordsatx hosted their 5th ILLfest in Austin, TX Labor Day weekend starring artists including Griz, Louis The Child, Getter, Kayzo, Ray Volpe, Slander & more right outside of Austin’s Circuit of the Americas (COTA). The fest was a hit, and there’s more to come.

Austin’s other well-known music festival, Austin City Limits (ACL), occurred last weekend at Zilker Park. EDM headliners including Diplo, Zhu, and Flume performed along with Big Wild and Big Gigantic. Seismic Dance Event, Austin’s boutique house & techno festival, is fast approaching in November. Top acts to catch at Seismic include Camelphat, Jamie xx, Maceo Plex, and Joel Corry. There’s also many shows right around the corner at some of the coolest venues around Austin.

The Marc in San Marcos has been temporarily closed for the summer as they set up for exciting shows, in preparation to bring out some of the top artists in the industry. Concourse Project is another popular venue. This seven-acre venue is run by Austin music veterans RealMusic Events, who have been a driving force in the Austin scene for the past 13 years. Located closer to the city, locations for EDM shows include The Venue, Mayfair Lounge, Kingdom, and Summit Lounge.
