Moonrise Festival in Baltimore, Maryland returns to Pimlico Race Course on August 12th and 13th! Last year was my first time ever attending this two-day journey into outer space, and it left me eager for more. Now, while I adore festivals we all know the hardest choices come with these lineups. While set times have not been made available just yet, lets dive into the day-to-day lineup for the top 5 must-see acts at Moonrise 2023.
John Summit
As one of the most in-demand names in the dance music scene right now, John Summit is my top artist for this festival. I know what many of you bass and dubstep lovers may be thinking, but it’s ok to experience change, trust me. With John Summit, no genre is off limits. There is no telling which direction he takes for his sets this year. But, I’m certain it will be an absolute party. From the information we have now, John Summit appears to be closing the Solar Tent on Saturday, August 12th, and that’s exactly where you will find my happy self.
GRiZ
Now, if John Summit isn’t quite your taste, or you simply can’t stand house heads, make your way on over to the Lunar Stage for GRiZ! Since the funkastic and bass-melting producer announced his hiatus from touring, this may be one of the final opportunities to see him live for the foreseeable future. GRiZ is a true performer, incorporating live elements with his mind-bending electronic production and occasionally bringing in array of collaborators. A truly out of this world set you won’t want to miss.
Sullivan King B2B Wooli
Following the legendary Excision B2B SVDDEN DEATH B2B Sullivan King B2B Wooli, Moonrise will host half of that onslaught with the final two artists on the Lunar Stage. Sullivan King and Wooli will demolish the audience with their insane range of productions with bass, dubstep, trapand heavy metal, while still rendering intricate moments. With an absurd amount of energy through intense music, captivating stage presence, mind-blowing visuals, and of course, Sullivan Kings iconic heavy metal screams, this B2B will lift off in forceful nature.
Riot Ten B2B Jessica Audiffred
Back at the Solar Tent, another B2B commences that is sure to break some necks. Following their B2B at EDC Las Vegas 2023, Riot Ten and Jessica Audiffred, two of the hardest players in the game, will demolish Moonrise. Both are known for their signature styles of unrelenting dubstep, uniquely bass and trap heavy edits, and contagious energy that captivates live crowds. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but head-bang at your own risk and hold on for your life!
Cosmic Gate
Now, for one of my personal favorite artist duos, we venture across the galaxy to the Stellar Stage for Cosmic Gate. Although I have never had the opportunity to see them live until now, these GRAMMY nominated trance legends are a magical auditory journey through their mesmerizing productions. With over 20 years of experience, Cosmic Gate are master curators of the best trance music in the scene. There is no escaping the realm of Cosmic Gate at the Stellar Stage.
