RÜFÜS DU SOL deliver beautifully intimate single “Next to Me” via Rose Avenue and Reprise Records
The renowned musical trio RÜFÜS DU SOL has signaled their 2021 reemergence with a new sound emulating raw emotions while still delivering uplifting energy to the dance floor. The groups single“Alive” was the first taste of their new product after a quiet three years.
“Next to Me” adds to the captivating soundscapes of RÜFÜS DU SOL. A chilling piano riff with unsettling intervals draws the attention of the listener right from the start. The passionate lyricism evokes intimate emotions of that desire for a loved one. That longing for a connection is emphasized through the vocal hook: “I want to feel you standing next to me.” The background vocals reverberate in the soundscape to create an ethereal atmosphere. The sporadic bass line and synth work creates space for the warm vocals to glide over the subtle energy driven by percussive shakers. “Next to Me” brings more insight into the trio’s next chapter of their musical journey.
Back in 2020, the trio announced their fourth album was in production and is set for release sometime in 2021, however, no confirmation has been released. If you need to fill that desire of seeing the group live, you can catch RÜFÜS DU SOL on tour throughout 2021 with performances at Red Rocks (August 11th and 12th), Bonnaroo (September 5th), NY Gov Ball Festival (September 24th), Austin City Limits Weekend 1 and 2 (October 2nd and 9th), and III Points Festival in Miami (October 23rd).
