Although it’s Friday the 13th, that doesn’t scare us away from delivering Stage Hoppers’ Friday Picks! Let’s kick off this weekend with some of the hottest new music on this day.
“Magic” – LUZCID X Jason Leech
Friday the 13th brings the menacing sound of “Magic” by LUZCID and Jason Leech. Released through none other than WAKAAN, “Magic” adds to the plethora of incredible bass music from the label in 2021. LUZCID and Jason Leech open the chilling atmosphere of “Magic” with a twisted vocal paired with a instrumental motive straight from some demented music box. The other worldly sound design and monstrous bass will leave you questioning where “reality starts and the dream ends.” “Magic” is the title track of LUZCID’s upcoming full-length EP and we look forward to the what comes next after this bewitching world.
“Gravity” – SLANDER X Subtronics (feat. JT Roach)
After debuting at Forbidden Kingdom, “Gravity” finally hits streaming platforms for this much anticipated collaboration. “Gravity” ties the melodic prowess of SLANDER, hard “wook-trap vibe” of Subtronics, and ethereal signature of JT Roach into one emotional, head-banging package. The melodic moments, featuring vocals by JT Roach, provide a shining atmosphere that audiences will love to sing along to, but then, the collaborative trio flip the switch on listeners to make way for the powerful, heavy bass that will have audiences going berserk at their next festival.
“Love Me Now” – Kygo (feat. Zoe Wees)
Kygo continues to assert himself as the prominent force in tropical house with “Love Me Now” featuring German singer-songwriter Zoe Wees. “Golden Hour” dominated the summer of 2020, and his April 2021 single “Gone Are The Days” with James Gillespie indicated a new chapter in Kygo’s career. With the release of “Love Me Now,” it’s clear that Kygo has not lost his gift of emoting perfect tropical vibes. The beautifully lyrical vocals of the 19-year old singer soar over the signature tropical sound with hints of new era Kygo elements. Listeners can always count on Kygo to deliver perfect summer vibes!
“hate u cuz i don’t” – Louis The Child (feat. Bea Miller)
Louis The Child have been kept busy with their Euphoria tour, and as they close in on the mid-point of the tour, the duo releases “hate u cuz i don’t” with vocalist Bea Miller. This latest track follows “Keep on Moving” and “So What” to become the third track released in anticipation of the duo’s second album, Euphoria. Bea Miller’s vocal delivery seems effortless as the lively groove ramps up the energy with various house elements. Louis The Child and Bea Miller create a wonderful dance vibe to let loose as summer comes to a close!
“Louder” – JSTJR X Henry Fong X Ultimate Rejects
“Louder” captures the essence of the title with it’s rolling bass lines, commanding vocals, and high energy atmosphere. Ultimate Rejects‘ vocals provide an energetic anthem that JSTJR and Henry Fong capitalize on with their hard-hitting production. The collaborative trio deliver a blend of soca and bass house elements that signify that high-octane energy comes in many forms. Audiences will definitely get “Louder” with this new anthem dominating festival grounds.
“Colorblind” – Adventure Club X Nurko (feat. Dayseeker)
The emotive soundscape of “Colorblind” comes to life via the production team up of Adventure Club, Nurko, and post-hardcore band Dayseeker. “Colorblind” creates a heart-aching atmosphere while delivering a story focused on love blinding others from toxic energy. The subtle instrumental opening brings focus to the passionate vocals of Dayseeker’s Rory Rodriguez. Adventure Club and Nurko tie in elements of future bass and melodic bass to deliver an powerful drop that compliments the soundscape introduced. This dream collaboration on “Colorblind” definitely does not disappoint.
