Canabliss, a rising star in the world of bass music, shares her signature sound with “Freak It.”
The Toronto based musician and producer has gained traction over the past few years with her previous productions, such as “Dealer” and “Wired,” and then caught the attention of the WAKAAN label which signed her in 2020. Despite COVID deterring her plans of touring, she has kept busy with releases, developing her creativity, and, now, Canabliss makes her SSKWAN debut with “Freak it.”
The sonic journey that is “Freak It” is a graceful perspective compared to the fierceness she has shown in previous productions, however, “Freak It” still offers the grit of bass music in a more downtempo vibe. Canabliss enchants listeners with her experimental sound mixed with elements of future bass. The main melodic theme is introduced through an hypnotic synth, then reiterated through wobbly bass lines throughout the track. The downtempo drum groove in the background serves as the foundation for the synth work to revolve around. Canabliss creates an interesting dream-like atmosphere for listeners to get lost in.
