Notorious for his larger-than-life personality, jazz-tinged electronic beats, and funky style, Quentin Dombres is a French DJ and producer professionally known as Dombresky. Making the next stop on his tour, LIFT OFF- THE TOUR, tonight in Toronto, Canada, Dombresky has been making turning heads and making waves in the dance music industry for nearly a decade. Most recently, he has become closely associated with prominent figures in the industry such as Blondish, Armand van Helden, Diplo, Claptone, and MK, all of whom have supported Dombresky’s initial career ventures as collaborators.

Here’s 5 reasons to catch Dombresky on tour:

1. His Humble Background

Starting out as a hip-hop DJ navigating the scene in France, he embarked on a journey that eventually led him to become an icon in the realm of uplifting and joyous house music. However, reaching this point in his career was a lengthy process.

“Before the Dombresky project, I was a hip-hop DJ in France. I played in some clubs but I was a ‘mainstream’ artist,” he told Gray Area in an interview. After making the shift to house music by 2016, Dombresky set out to learn as much about making and producing electronic music as he could. He moved to the United States, and well, the rest is history.

2. He Can Make Some Jazzy Tunes

With his jazz-infused, hypnotic tracks like “Soul Sacrifice” garnering over 50 million streams, Dombresky has carved out a distinct niche for himself in the music industry. His ability to combine an irresistibly catchy saxophone-led melody with guitar strums and powerful bass kicks, has helped him create such dynamic dance anthem tracks.

3. He Has an Impressive Track Record

Despite starting his career from scratch in the States less than ten years ago, he’s achieved remarkable milestones. From becoming one of Beatport’s top selling artists, to playing Lollapalooza, headlining Countdown NYE, and selling out iconic venues like the Shrine Auditorium and the Hollywood Palladium, Dombresky has also amassed a loyal fanbase contributing to his millions of monthly streams. He’s also gone global, playing sold-out venues across the world, including some of the hottest clubs of Ibiza and Dubai.

4. He’s an Award-Winner

In 2022, Dombresky won the Electronic Dance Music Award (EDMA) for Best Radio Show with his show, ‘Process Radio’, for the first time. Just a few weeks ago at the EDMA’s during Miami Music Week, he took home this honor for the second time, beating out some of the industry’s top artists like Martin Garrix, Tiësto, David Guetta, and Armin van Buuren.

5. He Has STYLE

As long as I’ve been following his rise to fame and his music, I cannot help but notice that he has impeccable style. His taste in bucket hats is phenomenal! He’s always sporting a different hat and awesome outfit- that I could never pull off- but he makes it work somehow.

It goes without saying that catching a performance by Dombresky is sure to exceed your expectations. If you’re seeking a night filled with fun, energy, and unforgettable memories, don’t miss the opportunity to see him live on tour!
