Ticketmaster’s Plan to Check Your Vaccine Status for Concerts

A Billboard exclusive article has provided us with insight into what one of the biggest companies in the event industry is working on. Ticketmaster, the global leader in advanced ticketing technologies is adapting its procedure to a new world. Although we may not know when events can come back, we do know what measures need to be taken to protect the attendees and abide by regulations.

Ticketmaster plans on relying on the Ticketmaster app, third party health information companies like CLEAR Health Pass or IMB’s Digital Health Pass, and testing and vaccine distribution providers like LabCorp and the CVS Minute Clinic to verify vaccinations.

After purchasing a ticker for an event, attendees would need to verify that they have been vaccinated within the last year. An alternative to vaccination will be testing negative for COVID19 24 to 72 hours prior to the event. The approximate time will vary depending on the guidelines of your state.

Once the test is completed attendees would have to instruct the lab to submit the results to their health pass company like CLEAR or IMB. If you have been vaccinated or tested negative, the health pass company would submit that information to Ticketmaster to verify your entree. If the results come back positive and the attendee has not been vaccinated, entree will not be permitted. Currently, there is no further information if refunds will be issued to those attendees but most likely no refunds will be given.

This program is still being developed and currently, the Food and Drug Administration has not approved any third party companies to provide real-time vaccination results. Ticketmaster President Mark Yovich believes that due to the high demand for this technology, a new wave of investors will fuel the growth of the new COVID19 technology sector.
