Shlump’s new EP Drift Away drops onto Liquid Stranger’s WAKAAN label.

The EP opens Shlump’s “Alien Bass” sonic experience with “Forever.” Shimmering atmospherics soar over the lush and resonant bass. But then, Shlump unleashes the full force of “Forever.” The flow into “Drift Away” settles the awe-inducing bass into a meditative atmosphere with glistening chimes. However, the impassioned anthemic vocals by Pure Powers energizes the arrangement with a rampant build followed by a gritty and dominating drop. The rippling bass lines and impeccable sound design showcases the talent of Shlump, and the perfect collab with Pure Powers. Next, Shlump initiates “Reset,” an experimental bass heater with minimal yet ethereal downtempo elements. Driven by an unwavering drum and pounding bass groove, “Reset” is a standout track that will blow your speakers; a true bass lover’s dream. The EP concludes with “Cuckoo,” with Space Wizard and Shlump joining forces for a strong finish. The wubz engulf the listener with laser-like synth work and unique melodic interjections that exemplify the eccentric quality behind the sound design.

Shlump tells us:

”This EP really came together on its own. The songs were created around the same time in my life and mesh together really well. We all have ideas of what we are doing with our lives and that create purpose and meaning, but sometimes I feel like it is equally important to not try so hard and to let things happen. From one part of life to the next, we drift away – not running and at the same time not staying still.”

Drift Away by Shlump was released on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022, via WAKAAN.

His live sets take audiences across the continent on a psychedelic spaceship ride through Shlump’s universe, visiting high energy devastating supernovas of bass and voyaging into deeper realms filled with the cosmic twinkle of sonic stardust.

Shlump has abducted the ears of a wide range of electronic music fans with releases on Wakaan, Deadbeats, Circus Records, Deep Dark & Dangerous, along with collaborations with and remixes for artists such as Liquid Stranger, LSDream, and Doctor P.
