Electric Zoo 2021 – Artists To Check Out

Electric Zoo is back in New York City for its 12th edition of the festival. With a standout lineup of the biggest names in EDM, house, dubstep, and bass, and four different themed stages, Electric Zoo 2021 is set for an experience you don’t want to miss. Electric Zoo takes over Randall’s Island for a three day festival from Friday, September 3rd to Sunday, September 5th.

As a lover of festivals, the most difficult decision is always which sets you will visit. Well, let’s take a look at some artists that you may want to add to your schedule for the weekend.

VEIL

First up on our list is the “highly explosive, dark and mysterious” VEIL.  Following her former artist project, spacegeishA, VEIL debuted on the dominant WAKAAN label with her EP “Summon” in October of 2020. More recently, VEIL dropped her “IXXI” EP with WAKAAN. VEIL is known for hypnotic basses, cutting edge soundscapes, and cryptic tracks. Pulling on influences from drum and bass, dubstep, leftfield, and halftime, VEIL produces a surreal sonic experience that transports audiences into her dimension. Don’t miss VEIL at Electric Zoo NY 2021 on Friday, September 3rd, at 1:00 pm, Riverside Stage.

JSTJR

The music of JSTJR is not limited by sub-genres or labels. He is a world renowned artist that delivers emotion and imagery through his music, and his music can be found in nightclubs from Lisbon to Los Angeles to Lima. JSTJR has produced official releases with prominent labels such as Insomniac, SMOG, and Mad Decent, in addition to receiving praise from elite artists like Diplo, A-Trak, and Skrillex. JSTJR’s latest high octane release, “Louder,” alongside Henry Fong and Ultimate Rejects, showcases his commitment to pushing the boundaries of his unique sound. Electric Zoo attendees can find JSTJR performing on Friday, September 3rd at 6:20 PM, Brownies & Lemonade Stage.

Esseks

The multi-faceted artist known as Esseks has developed a unique style over a large repertoire of music featuring diverse elements of bass music. The dark yet whimsical atmosphere of his productions is complimented by the artwork he creates for all his releases. From his 2015 debut album “Bad Cartoons” to the 2021 album “The Villian’s Journey,” the Brooklyn based producer and visual artist continues to push his range of cutting-edge production. Venture into Essek’s world on Sunday, September 5th, at 3:35 pm, Hilltop Arena Stage.

Mason Maynard

Mason Maynard continues to cement himself in the vast music scene with his extensive house repertoire. Mason Maynard has performed at some of the most respected clubs such as Leeds Festival, Stealth Nottingham, Switch Southhampton, and The Warehouse Project. He also garnered support from Green Velvet, Pete Tong, Claude Von Stroke, Skream, and Solardo, to name a few. You can find Mason Maynard at Electric Zoo on Sunday, September 5th, at 5:00 pm, Sunday School Stage.

Night Tales

Night Tales is the product of artists Kamaliza and Third Floor uniting to deliver precise songwriting, emotive atmospheres, and striking lyricism. Both artists tie in their individual styles in addition to promoting an extraordinary and uniquely emotive sound. Since the duo’s inception, Night Tales has released over 20 tracks with over 8 million streams on Spotify, 2 million on Apple Music, and 1.1 million on Soundcloud. Hailing from Australia, this duo is one to keep an eye on. Night Tales will certainly deliver immaculate dance vibes at Electric Zoo 2021 on Sunday, September 5th, at 1:00 pm, Main Stage.

Rinzen

The Los Angeles based artist Rinzen combines cinematic sound design with dynamic techno productions to immerse listeners into his world of music. Rinzen began his project in 2017, and since then, he has released music with mau5trap, Steyoyoke, and Chapter 24 Records. Rinzen’s live sets take audiences on a cinematic journey through his artistic vision. With performances at Desert Hearts Festival, EDC, Creamfields, and Ultra under his belt, Rinzen’s journey continues to unfold. Catch Rinzen on Saturday, September 4th, at 4:30 pm, Hilltop Arena Stage.
