Daisy Guttridge turns on the spotlight with debut single “i found u”.
The British-born, Los Angeles-based singer has been tirelessly working since her music career began at the age of 16. She has worked with notable artists such Tommy Trash, Cedric Gervais, Big Gigantic, David Guetta, and Hippie Sabotage. She has toured on over 500 sold out shows with the duo Hippie Sabotage, and will be featured on their upcoming spring 2021 tour. Guttridge’s previous release saw her provide the vocals for Vicetone‘s single, “Waiting“, which has been streamed over 21 million times and received countless radio plays.
Now, Daisy Guttridge is set for her next endeavor, beginning with the release of her brand new single “i found u,” released on Friday, November 12th, 2021. A melancholic guitar riff opens the track with Guttridge’s vocals following shortly after. Her soothing vocals begin to illuminate the vibrant tone palette of the track. The pop-centric song features influential elements of dark hyper pop, R&B, and electronic music that blend in a seamless fashion. “i found u” summarizes the sonic exploration this artist has taken over the years in order to discover her unique sound. Daisy Guttridge describes the meaning behind the track as “finding your person, or your place—just when you think something won’t work out, it does.”
For “i found u,” Guttridge collaborates with trusted colleague and executive producer Tk Kayembe (Masego, Kehlani). Through this track, with such a fitting title, Guttridge truly found her own sound in the essence of the track. Prior to the creation of “i found u,” Guttridge reveals she was “always fitting into someone else’s box.” The release of “i found u” brings a sense of relief as she is able to showcase her musical ethos. Following the release of her single “i found u”, Daisy Guttridge continues to look towards the future. Her next endeavor takes her on Hippie Sabotage’s 46-date Rooms of Hallucination Tour. Guttridge will support the Californian duo throughout their massive North American Tour. Lastly, fans will be able to feel the full talent of Daisy Guttridge with the release of her solo EP The Highs in fall 2021.
