Claptone returns with a new single remix package following a month of stellar live events, such as The Masquerade at AFAS LIVE at ADE, Zamna, Tulum and SLS Hotel, in addition to his incredible set with Vintage Culture at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. The dazzling remix package for “Beautiful” featuring lau.ra, features an array of house remixes from an eclectic group of artists.

First up, breakthrough UK artist James Hype accentuates the blissful vocals of lau.ra with a fiery tech house atmosphere while remaining true to the original. Next, German fraternal duo Monkey Safari takes the route of a disco house/dance-pop hybrid with the perfect touch of energy. Lastly, Murmur Tooth, a talented multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer, and frequent Beatport Top 100 lister, Lars Moston, evoke deep house with cutting edge production and collaboration.

The artists lend us their thoughts on this insane project:

For me, the original record felt like a summer day vibe, with Lau.ra’s floaty vocal. So for my remix I wanted to make a night time version, bringing the pace and energy up for the dance floor, adding in some more aggressive sounds and my heavy beat for good measure. Glad to say it’s gone off in both mine and Claptones sets!” — James Hype

We have been fans of Claptone since long and we are extremely grateful to remix one of his songs. Even though we were more than busy working on our Body Language compilation, that will come out on Get Physical this summer, it was an absolute no-brainer for us to do this remix and we are more than happy with the result!” – Monkey Safari

Claptone gave us a few song options for a remix, and Lau.ra’s vocals on “Beautiful” resonated with us straight away. We picked the most spine-tingling vocal accent, turned it into a rhythmic hook, recorded some whisper and guitar layers, and went from there.” – Murmur Tooth & Lars Moston

Great to see my track with Claptone get the remix package it deserves. Can’t wait to play that James Hype version in my sets, it’s absolutely massive.” – lau.ra

Beautiful” is the ninth single from Claptone’s globally renowned third album, Closer, co-produced by Stuart Price (Dua Lipa, The Killers, Madonna) that was released in November 2021. Claptone reveals, “Beautiful is an ode to selfless, giving, warm-hearted people. Those among us that are the essence that holds a relationship, a society well in the end all mankind together.”

More about Murmur Tooth & Lars Mosten

Leah Hinton played classical piano as a child in New Zealand, and oboe and cello in her school orchestra. Then she heard Nirvana and everything changed – she taught herself guitar, formed avant-metal band El Schlong, and spent the next 10 years shredding and screaming around Australasia and Europe. She settled in Berlin, built a studio, and started her solo “doom-pop” project Murmur Tooth, single-handedly writing, recording and mixing two EPs and a full-length album, as well as filming and editing a bunch of music videos.

British-German DJ/producer Lars Moston tours the world as a DJ, moving dancef loors from Fusion Festival to Tomorrowland. His own music is the result of an unpredictable range of influences and has been released on influential House Music labels such as Berlin’s Katermukke, Spanish giants Suara, and Nervous Records from New York City.

Leah and Lars met during the pandemic and started exploring how their polar opposite musical backgrounds could clash and combine. They are currently working on music that ranges from instrumental club tracks to vocal-based pop songs. 2022 will see their first releases together, starting with the instrumental “You, Me, Us, Spines” on hyped German label Heideton, and an official remix of Claptone’s single, “Beautiful”. Also in the works is a full-length album that combines Leah’s composition skills and vocal hooks with Lars’s production magic.
