On Friday, March 18th, Breakbot and Irfane released their Remedy EP, via Ed Banger Records / Because Music. The collection features four timeless, slick funk tracks that will light up any dance floor.

The EP includes the single of the same name, which was released earlier this year along with a fantastically futuristic video, featuring a cartoon Breakbot and Irfane traversing across the animated universe in search of “the remedy” and the solution to all of life’s problems. Second on the EP, Breakbot and Irfane bring “The Light,” a laidback jam with retro synths and soothing vocals that meticulously opens-up into a vibrant atmosphere. Next, “The Less I Know” sees Breakbot and Irfane deliver a quintessential instrumental disco track with a dominant and groovin’ bass line, playful guitar riffs, and pure synth magic. Lastly, the duo close out the EP with “Disease,” an infectious and upbeat party heater that will light up the night with its brilliance.

The video is a continuation of Breakbot’s biggest hit to date “Baby I’m Yours,” with over 300 million streams and counting!. These joyful and animated videos have become a staple of every Breakbot release, serving as a fitting visual accompaniment to his feel-good production. Breakbot will hop on the road, playing shows across Europe throughout the summer. After months of downtime cooking up new music in Paris, it’s a busy few months ahead for one of the most beloved figures in dance music.

More About Breakbot

The project of French producer Thibaut Berland and vocalist Irfane, Breakbot combines funk, disco, house, French touch, and more into an ultra-stylish blend. Berland first made a name for himself in 2006 with a remix of Justice‘sLet There Be Light” that was included on the Waters of Nazareth EP released in Japan. The following year, Berland issued the Happy Rabbit EP, his debut release as Breakbot, on the Klee label. He also established himself as an in-demand remixer, working on tracks by Digitalism, Sebastian Tellier, Rovksopp, and many others.

Breakbot made his Ed Banger debut in 2010 with “Baby I’m Yours,” which featured vocals by Irfane and remixes by Siriusmo and La Funk Mob. 2011’s “Fantasy” and the following year’s “One Out of Two” — both of which featured guest vocals by Ruckazoid — paved the way for Breakbot’s 2012 debut album, By Your Side. The album arrived in the States in April 2013. Berland and Irfane — now a full-fledged member of Breakbot — entered the studio of Berland’s brother David in 2015. Taking inspiration from Curtis Mayfield, Michael Jackson, and Prince, the act’s first new music in three years arrived with the “Get Lost” single. The full-length Still Waters was released in early 2016
