Sol Fest Music & Arts Festival moves to Florida’s Vortex Spring for their third edition, bringing its audience another diverse electronic music lineup Thursday, May 2 – Sunday, May 5, 2024. Three unique custom stages known as the Mind, Body and Sol stage will leverage cryogenics/pyrotechnics, fireworks, and lasers along with talented artists to create an unforgettable weekend. Beyond the music and production, there are numerous things to see & do at Sol Fest. Here’s our activity checklist to embark on an unforgettable weekend:
1. View the stunning art installations
At Sol Fest Music & Arts Festival, art transcends reality. The festival wouldn’t be what it is without its digital and live art – from larger-than-life murals and stunning installations to captivating holograms, including a hologram waterscreen show that you won’t want to miss!
2. Head over to the waterpark parties and water slides
If you want a break from dancing, ride the waves at the waterpark, featuring six epic water slides! Rest assured, you won’t be missing out on any of the music. There will be daily waterpark parties hosted by singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Two Feet, English drum & bass duo Chase & Status, as well as takeovers from CloZee’s Odyzey imprint and Dr. Fresch’s House Call Records.
3. Float the spring
At Sol Fest 2024’s new venue, Vortex Spring, 28 million gallons of water will be pumped out fresh every day, so you can float your troubles away along the clear blue water spring. Whether you’re relaxing on the tube or making friends with your neighbor, the float is a must.
4. Partake in one (or some) daytime activities
There’s so much to do at Sol Fest beyond the music & art. Grab your frame crew and join other guests to play to win at Frick Frack blackjack. This gambling extravaganza will take you on a joyride and if you’re lucky – a plethora of prizes may be offered. For those wanting something more active, hop in on a game of disc golf, organized by the festival team. Looking for something more restful & intuitive? Soundful healing workshops including meditation, breathwork, sound healing, and yoga will take place. Lastly, there will be body marbling (super fun!) and/or tye dying.
5. Enter the Sonic Portal
The Sonic Portal is something you’ll just have to experience yourself. It’s essentially a psychedelic spaceship ride that is more of a powerful experience. You’ll be taken on a journey, where resonant sounds perpetuate your entire body and disconnect you for a moment from external stimuli. It’s definitely worth checking out!
6. Indulge in water excursions
At the Vortex Spring, your adventure awaits! You can go canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, underwater cave diving and/or scuba diving. The grounds will provide a dive shop and general store, where you can collect your scuba and snorkeling gear.
7. Catch some amazing sets (of course)
Headliners at this year’s Sol Fest will feature REZZ, CloZee, LSDREAM, Bob Moses (club set), Dabin, Dr. Fresch, Elderbrook, G Jones, Lettuce (sunset set), and Of The Trees.
But the lineup isn’t just about headlining acts. The festival caters to a wide array of musical tastes and is a carefully curated ensemble, spotlighting emerging talents and established artists alike.
8. Check out the vendors
With over 40 food, merch, and craft vendors onsite, you can’t miss the awesome vendors at Sol Fest. Expect to discover an array of handmade goods and artisanal crafts, offering everything from jewelry and clothing to unique home decor items, and as anyone would at a fest, grub out at one of the tasty food vendors.
9. Attend Sol Sunday
The magic of Sol Fest is rounded out by Sol Sunday: the festival’s annual memorial segment that pays homage to their dear friend Quentin “Sol” Rupp, a passionate festival-goer who passed away at the age of 26. Sol Sunday includes, amongst other things, a special interactive sun lantern effigy burn and slideshow, where attendees can honor those in their own lives who have passed.
10. Enjoy the special performances
London-based grime MC and record producer Flowdan, who has collaborated with artists like Skrillex and Fred Again.., will perform two sets, in addition to his performance with Barclay Crenshaw. Transport to a dream state with LSDREAM, who will perform a special Lightcode set which is an immersive sonic healing experience featuring original music, guided meditations, and sound baths.
