Trivecta stuns with debut album The Way Back Up, out now on Seven Lions‘ renowned Ophelia Records imprint. Consisting of 13-tracks, the LP serves as a transformative performance in which Trivecta solidifies his presence in the melodic bass scene while simultaneously showcasing impressive versatility.
The Way Back Up offers an eclectic tracklist that Trivecta utilizes to explore various subgenres and demonstrate his all-around production and songwriting. Opening tracks such as “Sail Away” and “Open Road” reminisce the vibrant and dominant melodic bass sound that Trivecta is known for. “Drinking Like Kings” and “Memory Away” progress in a new direction with his self-proclaimed “folk bass” sound, shining a light on the acoustic elements. “Horizon Lines” becomes a personal favorite of mine with its boiling energy that ignites a deep yet fiery instrumental atmosphere. Trivecta continues to expand the boundaries of his sound with a banging techno hit in “The Gallows,” melodic riddim heater with “The Loop,” and golden age electro/progressive on “Empty Oceans,” featuring Emmy-winning singer-songwriter Matluck. The album also features vocalists such as Jay Mason, Casey Cook, RBBTS, Sarah de Warren, and more, infusing even more elements such as house, electro pop, and overall commanding bass music. Lastly, “Just A Closing Note” offers a somber yet beautiful instrumental feature culminating this career defining album. The effortless shifts between genres creates an intricate sonic journey, leaving no stone unturned as to the capabilities of Trivecta.
The Way Back Up by Trivecta was released on Friday, May 13, 2022, via Ophelia Records.
