SVDDEN DEATH has made the tough call to cancel his anticipated 2023 Harbinger Fall Tour, citing fatigue as the primary reason. The dubstep maestro took to Instagram to explain that the relentless schedule he endured over the summer was the culprit, marked by the launch of three new projects, hosting a music festival, and a glaring absence of breaks.
This decision is easily comprehensible, considering the artist’s non-stop touring since May this year, with appearances at nearly every major EDM festival across the circuit. His 2023 festival run included standout performances at prestigious events like Beyond Wonderland, EDC Las Vegas, Forbidden Kingdom, Electric Forest, Lollapalooza, Veld Music Festival, Bass Canyon, Dancefestopia, Imagine Music Festival, and Lost Lands, culminating in his own Summoning of the Eclipse Festival at The Caverns just last week.
In his announcement, SVDDEN DEATH clarified that “all shows scheduled between November 2 and December 22 will regrettably be scrapped,” assuring that “all ticket buyers will receive full refunds from their respective point of purchase.” The status of his October 31 performance at Echostage in Washington D.C. remains uncertain at this point. Fans should keep an eye on official sources and the venue for any updates regarding the show’s status.
The Harbinger tour, initially comprising 17 dates and set to touch down in major cities including New York, Chicago, and Denver, boasted support from fellow dubstep luminaries such as Space Laces and Virtual Riot.
The grueling hustle that DJs and producers endure is no joke, and we, as a dedicated fanbase, can only scratch the surface of understanding the mental and physical beatdown artists go through. Think sleepless nights, constantly jet-setting between cities, and pouring their all into each performance. It’s only right to give them props when they recognize it’s time to dial it down and not run at full throttle. In the modern world, mental health is getting the respect it deserves, and we’re all about creating that safe space for folks to be real about their inner struggles. Personally, I’m proud that the EDM scene carries itself with a selfless agenda. As fans, we’re cool with taking refunds without hesitation, ensuring that artists like SVDDEN DEATH, who’ve dedicated their lives to bringing us good vibes, have a chance to focus on self-care.
