Seven Lions and Andrew Bayer join forces for their first collaborative project entitled “Returning to You,” featuring Alison May. Both Seven Lions and Andrew Bayer are no strangers to blending genres, which shines through in “Returning to You” as the artists tap into elements of trance, progressive house, and melodic dubstep for this emotional dance composition.
Showcasing their cohesive production skills, the duo compliments each other’s style magnificently. Alison May’s ethereal voice floats among the lucious atmosphere created by the deep synth pads. An arpeggiated melodic synth riff gradually emerges from the background, signaling there is more to come. The melodic riff, vocals, light percussive build, and spacious noise risers build the tension, but then dissipate in order for the full force of the drop to engulf the listener.
In the drop, Seven Lions and Andrew Bayer blend synth elements that deliver the aggressiveness of dubstep and the dance energy of progressive house while still maintaining the emotional tone established throughout the intro/verse.
The first time collaborative duo have individually established themselves as respected producers and DJs and continue to please audiences with their creative blend of genres.“Returning to You” comes several weeks ahead of their sold out show at Red Rock Amphitheater on July 28th, giving audiences enough time to appreciate the work before it’s heard on a larger stage.
