California to Fully Reopen June 15

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on April 6 that California’s economy could fully open up as early as June 15. The “Blueprint for a Safer Economy” will be scrapped and operations will resume as they were before COVID19. Public health policies and testing will still remain in place to prevent the spread of the virus.

Two things must happen for the state to open up on June 15. California’s COVID19 vaccine supply must be sufficient for all adults who wish to receive a shot. Hospitalization rates must remain stable and low. If these conditions are met, the state will open as a whole beyond the tier system. The mask mandate will stay in for the foreseeable future as the most important non-pharmaceutical intervention to stop the spread of the virus.

What does this mean for festivals and tours?

California’s biggest promoter Insomniac has announced fall dates for Hard and we can expect smaller events to be scheduled for summer as promoters get their teams ready for a big return! If we learned anything this year is that things can change in an instant. Please continue to practice safe measures so we can enjoy the dance floor together this summer!
