We had the incredible opportunity to interview one of the most trending emerging bass artists currently, TINYKVT! Her humility and sweetness shone through, and we are grateful for the chance to speak with her.

Talking About Her Recent Single “Down”
When asked about her latest single “Down,” TINYKVT shared the personal journey behind its creation:
“I wrote ‘Down’ during a real period of transformation, dealing with a lot of really strong complex emotions, setting boundaries in my life, and cutting out certain toxic relationships. ‘Down’ was a really therapeutic way for me to channel that out musically.”
She added, “I think it’s the most aggressive solo track I’ve done, and it’s definitely more of the direction that the project will continue in.”
The Single’s Release on HypnoVizion Label
The single’s release on HypnoVizion label marked a significant milestone for TINYKVT:
“I’m really lucky that Rezz heard the track and immediately connected with it, and had a lot of praise for it, which was so wonderful. HypnoVizion has been incredible to work with, and I think it’s a really solid match. I’m glad that it happened.”
She elaborated on how the release came about: “This is my first single with HypnoVizion, and it happened really fast! I was fortunate enough to meet Rezz over the spring through some mutuals, and after we started following each other, I sent her the track. She just immediately connected with it and understood what I was going for, which was great because she’s been a huge inspiration my entire career. So having somebody like her recognize the project was really fantastic, and they fast-tracked it to release.”
Shows
We discussed her upcoming shows, including:
- Das Energi Festival on August 10th
- Columbus, Ohio support show on August 9th for YDG
TINYKVT shared her approach to live performances: “I always play my own music in my sets for a portion. Festival sets are definitely more of a way to showcase the full vision of the project and tend to be a bit more dynamic, a bit weirder, and a bit darker. Festival sets are really where I get to let, like, the full vision of TINYKVT out.”
Collaborations and Support Systems
On the topic of collaborations, TINYKVT highlighted the supportive community of female artists she’s part of:
“I think I’ve been really fortunate to work with a lot of other female artists. I’ve found myself in a really great space with a lot of female-based artists and a place where we’re all really supportive of each other. Jeannie and I have done two vocal features together, and we did a tour together back in March where I supported her on, like, three or four dates. It’s been great. Not that working with male artists isn’t great, but I’ve been fortunate enough that the majority of my collaborations have been with women, and I think that’s pretty special in bass music.”
Journey into Film and Movies
TINYKVT’s journey into the world of film and music production is equally fascinating:
“I moved to LA 12 years ago, started interning at Hans Zimmer’s studio called Remote Control Productions. Went on to be hired as an assistant there and worked there for around three years. While there, I sang on a ton of scores for not just Hans but a lot of other composers that work in the studio. Because of that, I got to sing on a lot of superhero movies, like Thor: The Dark World and Batman v. Superman. I actually sang the Tomorrowland hymn that Hans wrote over a decade ago for that festival, which is pretty cool because back then I barely listened to EDM. It’s funny that they still use my voice at Tomorrowland, which is just very full circle.”
Dream Festivals and Musical Inspirations
When asked about her dream festivals to play at, TINYKVT didn’t hesitate:
“Circuit Grounds at EDC is my number one goal, and then I also really want to play Tomorrowland. In 2022, I got to play an art car, but I would love to play on the Circuit Grounds stage.”
Regarding her current musical inspirations, she said:
“I listen to a lot of different music. In terms of EDM, I’ve been listening to a lot of Jawns. He just came out with an EP on Sable Valley that I think is rad. I also listen to a lot of Poppy, especially her track with Bad Omens, ‘V.A.N. (Violence Against Nature)’. And I listen to a lot of DeathbyRomy.”
B2B and Dream Collaborations
To wrap up our interview, we asked TINYKVT about her dream back-to-back set and collaborations. Her choices were clear and ambitious: “Skrillex B2B Boyz Noize would be a dream come true. And in terms of dream collaborations, Nine Inch Nails ideally, outside of EDM. Also, it would be a dream to collaborate with Rezz eventually.”
Conclusion
Our conversation with TINYKVT revealed not just an artist with incredible talent but also someone deeply passionate and dedicated to her craft. We look forward to seeing her continued rise in the bass music scene and can’t wait to catch her at her upcoming shows.
