With the music you grew up listening to, how did that shape your brand as Nostalgix?
“When I was a kid, I really loved listening to MTV. When I lived in Iran, my grandparents had cable so everytimeI would visit them I would sit there and watch MTV music videos, and I loved watching artists like Brittany Spears, Missy Elliot, Christina Aguilara, like the pop-stars, you know? So I think I just really fell in love with that era of music. Like the sound and energy behind it still inspires me alot.”
What has been your favorite song to play out during your sets from your Star City EP?
“I would say my favorite to play has been ‘Real Girls’ featuring DEV because it’s a very different one for me. Most of my songs lie within the 128-130 bpm range, so when I was making ‘Real Girls,’ I stepped a bit out of my comfort zone and made something a little bit different. It’s been really fun to play it out live and see people’s reactions.”
For our Fellow Stage Hoppers, what has been your favorite festival you’ve performed at?
“Tomorrowland Brazil was really incredible. I played there last year, it was unreal, it was my first show in South America.”
Is there any artist you’d wish for a dream collaboration with?
“DJ SNAKE… full circle right there!”
