This Denver-based producer has made a name for himself with high-energy and viral tracks that leave no stone unturned with sampling memorable sounds. Now, this past Friday MPORT dropped his highly anticipated project, Scene Selection. The new 9-track EP offers a blend of comical samples from Spongebob, Dodgeball, and more, amidst a backdrop of hard-hitting bass music. What MPORT executes extremely well is capturing the tone of each sample in the intricate production. Nothing feels out of place or just a one-off sample to catch a laugh. As the listener travels through memorable scenes, you can’t just help but smile at the nostalgia inducing vibes throughout the EP. Scene Selections features several standout tracks such as “Wumbology,” which samples SpongeBob SquarePants, and “Hot Rod (Cool Beans),” inspired by the cult classic film Hot Rod.

This longer EP is based around sampling some of my favorite scenes and media. Everything I used has made me belly laugh to tears at some point, personally, so I wanted to add my production twist on them. Also, it makes for great live visuals. As seen at my bluebird show recording I just uploaded to YouTube. From SpongeBob to Kill Tony to Hot Rod, the EP is a fun listen that will fill you with good vibes, nostalgia and make ya wanna dance all silly.”
