Hairitage has been making waves with his high-energy performances and unique sound. His presence on Excision‘s headlining tour has only further cemented his reputation as an artist to follow. The Nexus Tour is renowned for its immersive audiovisual experience and lineup of outstanding dubstep artists. Hairitage’s inclusion in this tour is a testament to his growing influence and the impact of his music on the EDM community. Fans have eagerly anticipated his sets, which are characterized by an explosive mix of dubstep, trap, and experimental bass, creating an atmosphere of unrelenting energy and excitement.

After reposting videos of the tour on our page for months, we finally had to check it out ourselves. Hairitage was kind enough to sit down with us in the bass capital, Denver, CO, after his B2B set with DRINKURWATER to share some of his proudest moments, projects in progress, and exciting details about his upcoming tour.

In 3 months, you’ll be heading to Legend Valley, Ohio for your FOURTH Lost Lands! What can fans expect from your Lost Lands set this year?

It’s just gonna be heavy and wonky, fun and energetic and go in a lot of different directions.

For those that haven’t seen this incredible b2b with DRINKURWATER and Hairitage, how would you describe this b2b in 3 words.

Wonky, sexy, beard-watery.

You have played at some of the most iconic festivals (Bass Canyon, Beyond, Lolla, EDC). You’ve delivered massive tracks in collaboration with highly acclaimed labels (such as Monstercat, Subsidia, WAKAAN). You also broke the internet with his viral remix of “Feel Good Inc” by the Gorillaz. There are so many things to be proud of, and I’m curious to know what do you consider your biggest accomplishment or proudest moment to be?

The Feel Good Inc was like an anomaly really, I mean… if we’re going to talk about it, I hated it when I started it. Peekaboo was actually one of the people who was like, “You’re an idiot, this is great.” Played it out and it ended up on Reddit and John Summit saw that and was like, “Give it to me.” Then the EDC moment happened.. every single night there was like a major event where it got played out. I feel like that was like the coolest, music-related thing to have happened.

Can you share with us a little bit about some of the collabs you have going on right now?

Yeah – I just got vocals back from Wreckno, so we have a phenomenal track coming. It’s very trap vibes, for a lack of a better term, ‘feel good music’. Me and Floss [Flosstradramus] have been going back and forth for a very long time. I think we’re very close to having a project together. Me and DRINKURWATER have a pact to get one ready to go. There’s been a lot of travel kind of holding things up but I think that we’re going to have an absolute smacker ready to go, and I’m very very excited.

I have to say, you’re very “with it,” you know? Like your “I’m gonna come” drop, your Meg the Stallion remix, the Dune trap remix. How do you stay innovative and how do you set yourself apart from other dubstep artists?

I can’t make the same thing twice – I lose my mind. I listen to people’s sets all the time, and I feel like everybody is nice and cohesive and has a style that they fit to. I go back and listen to my set and I’m like, ‘how tf did I get from here to here and nothing in between makes sense.’ For me, I just let things go, and whatever happens, happens, and that’s fun for coming up with new stuff. I watch master classes and see what other things people are doing. I’ll learn the synth just well enough to make something out of it, then beat that against the wall until it comes out with something cool. Then once I’m done with that, I’m like ‘cool, throw it out. I don’t want to hear it again.’

Will you have your own headline show soon? How will this differ from previous shows?

I don’t have a ton of headline history yet, but a lot of those shows have been me kind of showcasing my sound in a traditional format. For this, we’re going to have our own stage design, our own custom type of setup. We’re working on a very minimal vibe, but in a maximal way… it feels right in the rooms that we’re playing in… just really dialing it in and making it one for the books.
