Day Three: Unique Experiences and Artistic Expression
The third day brought unique experiences and artistic expression to the forefront. LP Giobbi’s Dead House set at Honeycomb provided a captivating fusion of Grateful Dead vibes with electronic music. Rumble in the Bumble returned, offering another chance to witness incredible street dance performances. The Grand Artique continued to enchant with unexpected musical treasures, while the Brainery hosted workshops like Twerkshop and Sweets Kendamas Jam & Flow, fostering creativity and learning within the Forest community. After a severe weather alert necessitated an evacuation, causing a delay in the evening’s programming, the festival resumed with Subtronics’ electrifying performance at the Ranch Arena main stage, delivering heavy beats and intense energy that reverberated through the forest. Simultaneously, LSZEE took the stage at Sherwood Court, captivating the audience with an intoxicating set that combined atmospheric sounds, pulsating rhythms, and a spectacular array of lights and lazers. The Carousel Club’s SUNDAY PRIDE takeover marked a joyful conclusion to Pride Month, featuring performances by Only Fire, Slayyyter, Shaun Ross, LP Giobbi, and Will Clarke that resonated deeply with attendees. However, the day took an unexpected turn when severe weather conditions necessitated another evacuation. Despite efforts to resume the festivities, including the eagerly anticipated closing set by Big Levity & Friends at Tripolee, a collaboration between Big Gigantic and Levity, the festival ultimately had to cancel the remaining performances, including headliner Excision’s set. While disappointing, the decision underscored Electric Forest’s commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of its community above all else.
Art and Community
Throughout the weekend, the festival’s art installations continued to captivate attendees, thanks to the Art Installation Sponsorship program. The Brainery and Chapel Parties provided spaces for learning, creativity, and celebration. Notably, the partnership with To Write Love on Her Arms brought the Piece by Piece: A Pixel Mural project to Main Street, promoting hope and mental health awareness.
Electric Forest 2024 was a testament to the power of music, art, and community. Despite the weather-related challenges and interruptions, the festival delivered an unforgettable experience filled with joy, connection, and creativity. As the final notes echoed through the Forest, attendees left with hearts full of gratitude, eagerly anticipating the next chapter of this extraordinary festival. Until next time, Forest Fam.
