Best Release of the Week [07.07.23]

What’s up Stage Hoppers! Now, another week has gone by and I’m again left with one of the hardest decisions of the week: choosing our top releases of the week. But, don’t worry, as always I’m here to share some of my favorite release from this past week. Let’s dive right in!

Knock2, NGHTMRE, Marhly — “One Chance”

Knock2 and NGHTMRE unite on their new single “One Chance,” featuring multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Marhly. This truly powerful collaboration features the alluring vocals of Marhly with the versatile production of Knock2 and NGHTMRE. Through “One Chance,” the two producers integrate their bass-forward perspectives with an enthralling house groove. The bass house atmosphere continues to evolve as the final moments unravel into a menacing statement.

Skrillex, Boys Noize — “Fine Day Anthem”

Skrillex and Boys Noize reunite for a rousing anthem perfect for our mid summer vibes.  Since being teased at Skrillex, Fred Again.., and Four Tet’s headline Coachella set, “Fine Day Anthem” has become a highly anticipated release for fans. Now, the hypnotic single arrives with its thunderous and propulsive energy. The vocal sample is pulled from Opus III’s iconic 1992 dance hit “It’s A Fine Day” and is complimented by the sinister production of Skrillex and Boys Noize.

Dillon Francis, Good Times Ahead — “LA On Acid”

Dillon Francis unveils his new single, “LA On Acid,” alongside Miami-based duo Good Times Ahead. Out now via Astralwerks, this latest offerings is straight off the superstar producer and songrwriter forthcoming This Mixtape Is Fire TOO, set to drop later this year. Following previous releases “Pretty People” featuring INJI, and “Don’t Let Me Let Go” with Illenium and EVAN GIIA, “La On Acid” features glitchy synths, punchy percussion, and thunderous basslines.

Joy Anonymous — “JOY (Head To The Sky)”

Joy Anonymous, the London dance music group ascending to new heights, release their new track Head To The Sky,” a beautifully crafted summer hit that is emblematic of the collective euphoria of a Joy Anonymous live set. Through this new single the listener is able to appreciate the power of Joy Anonymous. From their hard hitting house rhythms to their gospel-indebted hook, “Head To The Sky” continues their ascent!

Eli Brown — “Love is Free”

Eli Brown stuns with another release in “Love Is Free,” out today via Astralwerks. Following the success of “Be The One” the Bristolian dance powerhouse displays his unique techno approach. This track embodies the hypnotic rave world with its soaring synths work, driving beats, and mesmerizing vocal line. Eli Brown masterfully builds the tension through the dark atmospheres and the payoffs are immense. A sure techno anthem for the summer festival season in full force.

San Holo — “TINY FLOWERS”

San Holo shares his latest single “TINY FLOWERS,” from his forthcoming album titled EXISTENTIAL DANCE MUSIC. In this latest offering, the vibrant world of San Holo ventures into a drum & bass rhythm atmosphere. However, apart from the blissful and mesmerizing anthem, San Holo has crafted an uplifting message about coping with depression. San Holo shares: “It’s a reminder that no matter how cold and gray the journey through life might get, you can always find tiny flowers on the side of the road. Little glimpses of beauty are to be found all around us but so easily overlooked.
