  • We have a very special episode for you this week… it’s our EDC Las Vegas 2019 deep dive! In this episode, we go stage to stage ‘around the speedway’ and talk about the artists that we think should be on your radar as well as the artists we think you MUST SEE.

We’re also extremely excited to announce that we’ve launched a new community group on FB! Check out our FB page to learn about joining or join directly from the link in our show notes. We will be providing exclusive content to group members, interacting with you more personally, and looking to create a community that connects with one another and discusses all things EDM.

Back to the episode… If you want to get some deeper insights into the EDC lineup, then this episode is for you. Especially, if you want to explore new music and find artists that you may have not listened to before.

The artists/sets we talked about include: Sinopoli, Anna, 13, Space Corps, Rick Trainor, Dimension b2b Culture Shock, Skream b2b Rusko, Lucati, and Morelia.

  • Our second Artist Spotlight is a very special one. Akki, is a tech house producer in Brooklyn by the way of Australia and Singapore. She is absolutely tearing up the NYC house scene and it’s only a matter of time until she’s in everyone’s ears. We had the good fortune of seeing her open up for Tchami at Analog in Brooklyn and that’s when we knew that we had to have her on the show.

As you’ll hear in this episode, she is more than just a producer/DJ – she is a role model and icon for women in the music industry. She supports and empowers female producers through her guestmix series “Midnight Snack”. The talent she showcases in the series is amazing; however, one must not forget that she has some serious talent of her own.

Listen to the episode to hear more about Akki, her thoughts on empowering women, the trends she sees, and much more.

And as always THANK YOU for listening.

  • Welcome to Episode 14 of Beyond the Beats. This week we started off with our brand new section – On Repeat. On alternating weeks, one of us will share a track that we cannot stop listening to (it may not always be edm).

In the new music section, we covered new tracks from Crankdat, Loge21, The Chainsmokers, Martin Garrix, and a Eric Prydz remix of Camelphat.

Delving into the world of EDM, the topics covered include the awesome production from Gesaffelstein’s Coachella set, more bad luck for Ultra, lineup releases, and the controversy surrounding Marshmello’s collab with Tyga and Chris Brown.

We’d also like to thank Akki – a future Artist We’re Watching – for inviting us to see her set at Schimanski, NYC. Samir discusses his experience and how awesome her set was. S/O to Aazure, Westend, and Will OB who Samir also saw play. Definitely some artists to watch as well.

Swipe up on the episode to find the full show notes; or check it out on Facebook at 2pm PST. Follow us on Instagram (@btb.pod); Twitter (@podbtb); Facebook (@beyondthebeatspodcast).

A special shoutout to the Artists We’re Watching this week: Jordnmoody and Skrybe.

  • Welcome to Episode 11 – thanks for tuning in! Kicking the episode off, we talk about a newly released flip from the upcoming legend and one of last week’s Artists We’re Watching – Slooze. We then talk about new releases from Shadient, Destructo, and Calvin Harris.

Delving into the world of electronic music, we discuss the posthumous Avicii album (RIP), Eric Prydz’s new visuals, Serato Studio, Coachella, Bonnie x Clyde in San Francisco, and how people need to support Getter in the wake of him canceling his tour.

This week’s Anti Plur moment revolved around the infamous ‘Sync’ button. In sum, we agreed that DJs need to stop shaming people for using sync during their sets.

Shoutout to the Artists We’re Watching this week: Allen Mock and Honey & Badger.

    And as always, THANK YOU.
