Earlier today the Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 65th annual Grammy Awards. Among those nominations included 2 categories for electronic dance music. The categories consist of Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording. The Grammys are a special time to recognize and award artists after a year of amazing releases. Some fan favorites were included in this years nominations such as Rüfüs Du Sol, Odesza, Diplo, and more. In addition, we also saw some first time nominations within these categories from first time nominees such as legendary recording artist Beyoncé.
As always with any Grammys they come with their “snubs” and “upsets.” The most notable upset this year among fans comes from the lack of nomination for Swedish Mouse Mafia’s album Paradise Again following their 10 year hiatus, and Fred Again’s singles from Actual Life 3. This article will break down the nominees for each category and their respective projects.
