As a 27 year old who has already had 5 spinal surgeries, and was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, I can’t escape the feeling that I’m growing up too quickly. I think about the bails, biffs, and slams that I endured as a kid, and my father’s words echo in my head: ‘You’re gonna feel that when you’re older son.’ I didn’t believe him then, but dad, I fucking feel it now! But despite each day moving faster than the last, despite the aches and pains, I am committed to living each day to its fullest potential, and I will continue to do so until I no longer can.
