Avicii’s New Album, Swedish House Mafia No Show, Zedd & Matthew Koma Beef, Virtual Self playing before Porter Robinson, and much more | Ep. 19
Welcome to Episode 19! This week we discuss some big topics… we cover new releases from the likes of Afrojack, Hot Since 82, Armin Van Buuren, 4B x Flosstradamus and – of course – Avicii’s posthumous album – TIM.
Delving into the world of electronic music, we FINALLY discuss the first section of the IMS Ibiza 2019 report – an annual summit that discusses the state of EDM in the world. Additionally, we discuss the Zedd & Matthew Koma beef, Swedish House Mafia pulling out of Ultra Korea last minute, and Samir’s experience seeing Tchami x Malaa again (hint: it didn’t disappoint).
This week’s Anti Plur moment is about people who don’t dance to an opener’s set… c’mon people, you’ve got to set the right vibe!
A special shout out to the Artists We’re Watching this week: Saint Punk and Skolar. Samir saw Saint Punk during Tchami x Malaa and he was very, VERY impressed. As for Skolar, very little is known about him; however, what Alec does know is that he’s someone to look out for.
As always, THANK YOU for tuning in. We really appreciate all the support and love.
Lastly, a quick reminder… Since Samir and Alec will be attending Second Sky, there won’t be a regular episode next week. However, there’s arguably something even better… we will be releasing our 4th ARTIST SPOTLIGHT with the incredibly talented artist – Gurf.
YOU NEED TO CHECK HIM OUT AS HE’S ALREADY DOING BIG THINGS. Take a look at his Soundcloud (link in the full notes) ahead of next week’s interview!
And now you may enjoy this week’s episode 🙂

For the What We’re Listening to section we reviewed Dog Blood’s new EP and Madeon’s new single (hint: positive reviews all around).
Shoutout to the Artists We’re Watching this week – Gurf and NuBass. It’s a nice mix between trap (Gurf) and UK Bass/Bassline (NuBass). Expect BIG things from these two this year.

We got a chance to sit down with Trip Trop, two brothers from Los Angeles who refuse to have their sound siloed to one specific genre. Join us for our third Artist Spotlight to learn more about what motivates Michael and Matthew to create genre defying music, market their sound, balance producing and life, and create their own brand.
