  • Welcome to Episode 24 of Beyond the Beats! Thanks for tuning in for your weekly dose of electronic music news and culture.

This week, we cover two new releases from two prior Artists We’re Watching: Skrybe and Uknew. Skrybe stuns again with his insane cinematic style production and Uknew continues his hot streak by adding another house banger to his resume that’ll make you want to move your feet.

We also cover new music Illenium .x The Chainsmokers, Rezz, Hot Since 82, Above & Beyond x Seven Lions, and W&W x 3 Are Legend.

Delving into the world of EDM, we FINALLY put the Ultra Miami fiasco to bed by discussing their return to Bayfront Park. Also, we dive into Seismic Dance Event, the Numark Scratch, DJ Snake b2b Malaa at Hard Summer, and a new documentary on BBC Four about the history of acid house!

A special shoutout to the Artists We’re Watching this week: RemK and Banza. RemK is an up and coming trap producer – who experiments with house – from California. His shit is fire! Coming in from Europe, Banza is an incredibly talented bass house/house DJ from Serbia. These two have bright futures. PUT THEM ON YOUR RADAR.

Lastly, as always, THANK YOU for tuning in.

  • Welcome to Episode 22! Thanks for tuning in for your weekly dose of electronic music news and culture.

This week, we cover a couple new releases from two prior Artists We’re Watching: NuBass and SMACK. NuBass brings Toy Story to EDM and SMACK continues the bass house movement.

We also cover new music from our man Bijou, Timmy Trumpet & Plastik Funk, Moksi & Ookay, and the heavy hitting DnB artist A.M.C.

Delving into the world of edm, we talk about Electric Forest, business insights into music streaming platforms (courtesy of the IMS Ibiza Report), Chase & Status’s return to Jungle, the biggest beach festival in the world, and much more.

A special shoutout to this week’s Artists We’re Watching: Tyler Lawrence and Xaatu.

These are two young and very talented producers that delve into unique, experimental sounds. There’s no single genre to label their music as being, but expect some experimental trap and future sounds. If you don’t put them on your radar, you’ll definitely regret it.

Lastly, as always, THANK YOU. We wouldn’t be able to do this without you (quite literally).

  • Welcome to Episode 21! Thanks for tuning in for your weekly dose of electronic music news and culture.

This week, we cover a couple new releases from two prior Artists We’re Watching: Skrybe and Koos. Skrybe brought the heat with Fear the Entity and Hollow Without You (feat. Skye) – two more reasons he should be on your radar. And Koos – as always – makes you want to move with to the house beats of his song, Fury.

We also cover new music from Slushii, Hi-Lo & Chocolate Puma, Malaa, and KSHMR.

Delving into the world of edm, we talked about Defqon 1 (the all hardstyle + hard dance festival), IMS Ibiza Part 3, Marshmello’s future collabs, and much more.

We also had a very SPECIAL GUEST come on the show to talk about the shows he throws, his aspirations, and his upcoming releases… that is, Aazure.

It was a pleasure to have him on. It’s always great to talk to people who are doing big, big things. Check out his music and support his event promotion label, Lunar Lounge (links in show notes and on our FB page).

A special shoutout to this week’s Artists We’re Watching: NRRD and Klavay. NRRD is perfect if you want a futuristic, chill but yet upbeat vibe. Klavay’s vibe on the other hand will suit those of you that want to go hard – to experience experimental trap sounds that will make your face cringe. Make sure they’re on your radar (you’ll thank us later).

Lastly, as always, THANK YOU for tuning in. We wouldn’t be able to do this without you.

  • Welcome to Episode 20! Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far – we truly couldn’t have done it without you!

This week, we cover a few new releases from some prior Artists We’re Watching… that means new music from Social Kid, No Etiquette, and Coldwall.

A quick side note… Coldwall was kind enough to let us do an EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW of his “corruption” of RL Grime’s I wanna Know. Trust us when we tell you that you’re not ready for this. This remix is ABSOLUTELY insane. You can find the link in our full show notes. Go check it out.

Back to episode 20, we also cover new music from Pryda, Mark Knight, Flume, Matroda, and a fire release from Ephwurd x ANGELZ.

Delving into the world of edm, we recapped our experience at Porter Robinson’s Second Sky festival (Skrillex did a surprise set!); went over the second part of the IMS Ibiza 2019 report; discussed Ultra Europe’s location issue, and much more.

A special shoutout to this week’s Artists We’re Watching: Galyax and IDE-K. These two artists are hidden gems… if you want to flex your knowledge of the underground, make sure to check these two artists out. We predict that they’re going to blow up very soon. With the amount of talent that these two have, it’s only a matter of time.

And as always, THANK YOU for tuning in.

    by Arad Javaheri

Welcome to Artist Spotlight #4! We had the honor of speaking with the insanely talented producer and DJ, Gurf.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Stooki Sound and Mr. Carmack, Gurf perfectly balances the ‘old’ with the ‘new’. His trap based sound is unique and multifaceted – quite representative of how he is as both an artist and a person.

Not only is Gurf helping define the future of trap music… he’s bettering electronic music culture too. Through his record label Partica, Gurf is fostering a community of artists bonded by the belief that collaboration, open-mindedness, and creativity will lead to everyone’s success. A refreshing paradigm to hear…

Tune in if you want to hear more about Gurf’s work to shape EDM culture, his background in hip-hop, what motivates him to pursue his dream, an exclusive preview of his upcoming banger, and much more.

This special episode will show you why Gurf needs to be on your radar.
