This week, Steller and Zingara unveil their joint, three-track EP Is This Real? As two of the fastest-rising names in bass music, they have crafted an otherworldly and genre-bending sonic journey filled with low-end wubz, mesmerizing textures, and jazz-inspired instrumentation.
The opening and title track immediately immerses the listener into a transcendent atmosphere of mind-melting bass and ethereal effects. The psychedelic nature of the tune is elevated by the underscored word dialogue transporting the listener into a new reality. Thinking back on its creation, Steller tells us:
Whenever Zingara and I create together, it feels effortless. She had started the intro and we built from there, with the first track exploring the idea of time and questioning reality. Everything seemed to align in unusual ways during the process, and the music reflects that sense of meaning and synchronicity.”
Next, “Better Believe It,” shows their knack for creating irresistible grooves with heavy jazz influences and overtly euphoric energy. Zingara shares:
‘Is This Real?’ explores reincarnation, collective consciousness, and the nature of time itself. We began this project as my great grandma was passing. I got a phone call about her last days while we were working together, and the words became symbolic of her journey. It brought Steller and I closer through music, friendship, and studying these concepts.”
And to close out the EP, Steller and Zingara offer up a long-awaited VIP of their breakout collaboration “Find It In Your Mind.” This reimagined version transforms the original into a reality-shifting venture through masterful sound design.“We have been waiting so long to release the ‘Find It In Your Mind’ VIP,” Steller adds.
It felt like the perfect closer for the EP. If you read the titles of all three tracks together, the concept becomes clear.”
With Is This Real? out now, Steller and Zingara have delivered a powerful project that continues the innovative nature of their respective sounds in a seamless collaboration. And, to celebrate, the duo will host a special ‘Is This Real?’ release party at TK Lounge on the same day. All proceeds from tickets and limited-edition merchandise will be donated to St. Francis Society Animal Rescue and Hues of Hope, Inc., supporting pet rescue and rehoming efforts. Steller and Zingara’s dedication to giving back is woven into their artistry and set a philanthropic example for the wider dance music community.
