BLAAP – “BLAOWP”
Of The Trees and Freddy Todd offer a glimpse at their highly anticipated collaborative album as BLAAP with “BLAOWP.” With the new release, Freddy Todd shares:
The song BLAOWP is an onomatopoeia and kind of the epitome of what the band BLAAP means. It’s an explosion in space time, an event, and one of our anthems. Contrary to most of the other tracks we’ve worked on, where we’re usually in the studio together and using Tyler’s computer with Ableton as the main workstation, Blaowp saw life beginning on my (Freddy’s) PC on FL Studio in Michigan – consisting of that first massive drop and hectic vocal “scratching”. I sent it to Tyler as a potential BLAAP tune idea with him responding “yes. YES. I would love to work on this” and me replying “Swag. Fantastic. Stems incoming”. After some tinkering and a trip back out to Colorado, we fleshed out the second drop in person but with OTT at the helm – as Tyler was dialing in his signature pockets I paced back and forth knowing BLAOWP was going to be volcanic af. Both drops go so crazy and each one is representative of our differences in being two separate humans with individual styles yet come together in a nice cohesively unique package of a song in a new blaapedelic way. It’s been so fun to play live and I’m stoked to finally release this one proper.”
Phrva – “Mind”
Phrva debuts with “Mind,” a hard-hitting blend of deep, rumbling bass and eerie synths. As the lead track from his upcoming Crave EP, its explosive drop and hypnotic vocal sample make it a standout for the rising bass music producer.
Steller – ‘FUNKSTEP!’ EP
Steller drops her highly anticipated EP, FUNKSTEP!, on Bassrush. Through FUNKSTEP!, the versatile producer showcases her genre-bending sound with funk sensibilities. Regarding the new EP, Steller shares:
So excited to be dropping another EP with my Bassrush fam. This is a fun one!! Been playing these tracks out on tour and every time the energy is always on point! I hope they’ll make you dance and feel good things.”
Milano, Daggz – “Animalistic”
Rising producer and DJs Milano and Daggz make their HypnoVizion debut with “Animalistic.” This heavy-hitting collab is riddled with thick basslines, and aggressive percussion with this next-level, multilayered riddim track.
Distinct Motive – “Mellow Man” (Remixes EP)
Distinct Motive releases a four-track Mellow Man Remixes EP on Deadbeats. The compilation showcases his innovative bass sound, reimagined by UK heavyweights like Caspa, Hypho UKG, and Bukez Finezt. With a VIP version that elevates the original track, this marks a thrilling new chapter in his already standout 2024 journey.
