6 Must-See Sets at WAKAAN Music Festival 2024

As the sun sets over Mulberry Mountain, the festival grounds come alive with a sense of unity. WAKAAN Music Festival is a place where the soul is nourished, the spirit is lifted, and the mind is opened to new possibilities. On September 25th to 29th, WAKAAN returns for its fourth spectacular year, and is bringing a talented lineup of EDM artists. We don’t want you to miss some of the best anticipated sets for the weekend, so we’re sharing our top must-see sets for fans entering the WAKAAN legacy.

A Hundred Drums

Appearing on Subtronics’ ANTIFRACTALS album with a remix to “Flute Dub” and dropping a politically potent EP, “Enough is Enough” on Zeds Dead’s label Deadbeats, A Hundred Drums is making her way through the electronic music scene. From UK dubstep to downtempo, her music has a primal pulse that connects humans in festival crowds. Her WAKAAN set promises high-energy beats and immersive rhythms, as she delivers a unique, new generation of bass music.

DRINKURWATER b2b Haritage

DRINKURWATER and Hairitage joined forces this year, traveling the country and are making their next stop at WAKAAN. In our recent interview with Hairitage, he describes this b2b set as “wonky & sexy”. They never fail to excite fans with their electrifying drops and remixed tracks. You can expect a heavy set with diverse transitions that will keep you moving and hydrated on that BEARDWATER.

Flozone

Emerging from a love for deep bass and intense leads, Flozone blends dirty south influences with the edginess of modern bass music, bringing fluidity and aggression to his vibrant sound. This year, he’s released two amazing tracks including “Down” and a remix of “Ritual” by Ravencoon (who is another must-see also making an appearance on the WAKAAN lineup). He’s up & coming, and his talent certainly should not be overlooked. Catch his set featuring crisp, punchy beats, creating a sound that is both hypnotic and invigorating.

BLAAP

BLAAP is a dynamic collaboration between Of The Trees and Freddy Todd, two innovative artists in the electronic music scene. Combining their unique styles, BLAAP is characterized by intricate basslines, glitchy rhythms, and an experimental approach that keeps bassheads’ feeling alive throughout their entire set. BLAAP stands out for its ability to seamlessly blend the creative energies of both artists. Get weird, venture into the realms of psychedelic bass, and immerse yourself in a dynamic auditory experience at WAKAAN.

The Widdler

Drawing inspiration from various genres and lifestyles, The Widdler’s music spans a wide spectrum. His tracks range from laid-back reggae dubs and atmospheric blues to powerful, bass-heavy rhythms. Each set he performs is a unique blend of his musical influences and production skills, making every performance a distinctive experience. His set will make you want to vibe out, maybe light a spliff, and immerse yourself in his dub sounds.

Zeds Dead b2b Liquid Stranger

The legendary duo Zeds Dead will grace the stage for the first time, and in an exciting twist, will perform a back-to-back set with the mastermind behind the WAKAAN label, Liquid Stranger. This historic collaboration promises to merge Zeds Dead’s dynamic energy with Liquid Stranger’s innovative soundscapes, creating an unforgettable experience. It’s a must-see performance that will undoubtedly be a highlight of the festival.
